Join us as a Corporate Tax Analyst. We’re looking for someone to assist in the delivery of UK corporation tax compliance processes for a portfolio of subsidiary entities. You’ll be responsible for supporting the corporation tax compliance requirements of our largest banking entities.

What you’ll do:

  • Support our UK corporation tax compliance, managing a portfolio of group companies.
  • Prepare the annual tax provisions and tax accounting disclosures for those companies.
  • Liaise with Finance teams to gather information required for the preparation of the computations.
  • Carry out initial research into tax technical issues.
  • Finalise the tax computations ready for submission to HMRC.
  • Assist with many of our tax responsibilities including group relief payment settlements and ledger management.
  • Prepare internal relief settlement summaries and collections.
  • Provide input into and assist with the corporation tax processes and group relief plans for submission to HMRC.
  • Manage corporation tax payments to and from HMRC.
  • Gather and manipulate data into an appropriate format for the preparation of the tax computations.
  • Support and deliver specialist input where required, such as the quarterly corporation tax instalment payment process, group relief plans and settlements or elections with HMRC.
  • Assist the year end group reporting process.

The skills you’ll need:

  • Proven accounting abilities or experience in the preparation and review of tax charges and disclosures, including deferred taxation.
  • A professional accounting qualification would be beneficial, as would an up-to-date knowledge of the UK corporation tax system, including legislative, non-statutory, and practical aspects; however, neither are essential and training will be provided.
  • Demonstrate a general business and commercial awareness.
  • A good working knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word.
  • The ability to handle a high volume workload on a regular basis within overall deadlines and service standards, and the flexibility to work overtime as required.
  • A good understanding of how to deliver and maintain a best in class taxation service.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of how to maintain close working relationships with other tax teams and collaborate with other business areas to achieve team and business objectives.
