Join a team that is accountable for closing and maintaining the integrity of the ledger for our Commercial & Institutional business. You’ll be delivering an accurate understanding of the financial position, including key business drivers for material movements. As a key member of our team, you’ll enjoy extensive collaboration and can expect great visibility for you and your work. We offer a hybrid way of working where you'll attend the office in person a minimum of two days per week, with the rest of your time working from home.

What you'll do:

  • As a Trading Product Controller, you’ll be responsible for the daily P&L and monthly balance sheet reporting for the bank’s trading desks.
  • Lead teams to make accurate and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information.
  • Accountable for your team’s performance and daily activity delivery, implementing performance measures and promoting a culture of data and information quality.
  • Set the control and deliverable governance frameworks aligned to our overall strategy, ensuring adherence to the strategy, operating model, and process architecture principles.
  • Actively participate in strategic initiatives and drive a continuous improvement culture in the team.
  • Deliver full substantiation and reconciliation of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts within a controlled framework, and understand the key business drivers.
  • Set and manage internal controls, such as the development of the control framework.
  • Establish strong analytical procedures over the balance sheet and profit and loss account.

The skills you'll need:

  • We’re looking for a qualified accountant with excellent transferable experience of working in a large multinational financial services environment.
  • Extensive experience leading, motivating, and directing a small team, ideally with experience of global working.
  • Experience of implementing business process and procedural change in a complex business environment.
  • Strong experience in trading and banking book systems, interlinked financial systems, and accounting procedures.
  • The ability to implement operating model and strategic change.
  • The proven ability to drive culture and generate several ways forward to achieve team objectives.
