You'll make a far-reaching impact by being a trusted advisor and creating an environment that's focused on continuous improvement.
What you'll do

This will include liaising with the front office teams, reviewing products, clients and transactions, providing recommendations and escalating any concerns to senior management.
- The scope of your review will cover both tax technical and reputational risk issues.
- You'll oversee transactional tax issues within the relevant businesses and liaise with the operational tax teams.
- We'll look to you to monitor the external tax environment and brief the business and senior management on new developments, and provide training where appropriate.
- Working internally with tax teams and tax colleagues, we'll also expect you to represent the bank in discussions with key external parties including audit teams, HMRC, external advisers and key industry bodies.
- Focusing on efficiency, you'll suggest ways to streamline review procedures to maximise use of department resources.
