Join us as a Solution Architect

  • We’ll look to you to define the technical architecture and high-level design for the assigned scope that provides solutions to the required business outcomes and meets the bank’s strategy.
  • You’ll accelerate and drive the adoption of key technology strategies across three customer business areas.

What you’ll do

In this key role, you’ll be leading complex and technically challenging architectural transformations, coordinating design and platform teams across domains to define the high and lower-level technical design that provides solutions to deliver our business outcomes and meets our longer-term strategy.

You’ll also be promoting adaptive design practices to drive collaboration of feature teams around a common technical vision using continuous feedback. We’ll look to you to define and own the architectural vision and roadmap for the Trade Finance, Asset Finance, and Invoice Finance domains.

We’ll also look to you to act as a technology evangelist, staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies and serve as a key influencer and trusted advisor to C-suite executives and other senior stakeholders.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Deliver financial, regulatory, and sustainability commitments and continuously reduce our cost of delivery.
  • Own all aspects of the technical design issues and drive resolution through the iteration of the technical solution design.
  • Continuously elaborate on the solution and its interfaces, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and develop a pipeline of features and improvements to allow frequent and incremental delivery of value.
  • Influence the development of business strategies at an organisational level, identifying transformational opportunities for our businesses and technology areas.
  • Translate architecture roadmaps into packages of work that allow frequent incremental delivery of value to be included in product backlog.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, ensuring solutions align with best practices, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and mentor staff, fostering the development of senior engineering talent.

The skills you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll need knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering. In addition, you’ll bring expert knowledge of application architecture, and at least one business, data, or infrastructure architecture with an in-depth knowledge of the industry architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.

You’ll also need:

  • Understanding of Agile and contemporary methodologies with experience of working in Agile teams.
  • Experience of defining application architectures and roadmaps for complex solutions working for all layers of the technical architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to colleagues at all levels.
  • Experience of working with business solution vendors, technology vendors, and products within the external market.
