  • We’re looking for a driven communicator, to develop relationships across the bank, ensuring a cooperative approach to lead generation.
  • You’ll be building relationships with and managing our clients, in-line with our customer strategy and marketing plans

What you\’ll do
As a Relationship Director, you’ll be providing financial services to large corporate customers by engaging them with respect, professionalism and credibility in all situations. In order to succeed in your role, you’ll develop a robust network of external contacts across the wider business community.You may also be using your leadership and motivational skills to manage an assistant, which will contribute to the performance and sustainable profitability of your function.
The portfolio of customers that you will manage is mainly made up of large corporate customers with revenues in excess of ÂŁ100m and customer sectors include retail, motor dealerships, large scale food manufacturers and others.

  • Developing an origination strategy for the creation of new customers within your sector
  • Working with and supporting your team to make sure credit stewardship responsibilities are carried out and high qualities of new and existing lending is maintained
  • Building, maintaining and managing relationships at all levels across the bank
  • Making sure all credit and operational risk policies are understood and being adhered to

The skills you\’ll need
We’ll expect you to have proven experience in a financial role along with a clear understanding of credit markets and best practice in lending.Experience of dealing with syndicated transactions, liaising with agency banking teams and any exposure to private equity funding structures will stand you in good stead in this large corporate portfolio. You’ll have the ability to analyse and interpret financial information and complex corporate situations, anticipate future business trends and evaluate strategic options. Additionally, you’ll have a background in providing imaginative and creative solutions to complex problems with experience of deal structuring, which may include facilities from across the bank and the ability to set and monitor financial covenants alongside the banks specialist teams.
While not essential a demonstrable knowledge of the market and a local network within the Central South region will set you apart from other candidates
Due to the nature of the role, it’s essential that you hold a Diploma in Lending Skills professional qualification or be prepared to work towards this qualification within the first six months of taking up the role.
You’ll Also Be Expected To Have

  • A strong understanding of the relevant businesses and underlying products
  • The ability to communicate with impact to senior level within the business, such as CEO’s and CFO’s and other professionals and with customers at this level is a must
  • A strong customer focus and excellent relationship management skills
  • A proven ability to formulate or deliver a business strategy
