Operational Resilience Manager, Governance

As an Operational Resilience Manager you will partner with stakeholders across NatWest Group to support the delivery of key operational resilience governance activities.

What you’ll do

  • Provide the knowledge, skills and support required to deliver Group‑wide governance activities for the Operational Resilience Centre of Excellence.
  • Lead governance forums and Board updates, including the annual self‑assessment.
  • Engage with FCA/PRA and contribute to NWG governance forums, including at Board level.
  • Coordinate cross‑organisation governance forums, collate and create forum papers, and track actions through to conclusion.
  • Provide insights into best practice and support internal decision‑making.
  • Act as a trusted adviser, establishing strong relationships across NWG, including business and functional leads, Risk, and Regulatory Affairs.
  • Deliver high‑quality written corporate documents such as the annual Operational Resilience Self‑Assessment.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent management skills and experience, with the ability to motivate others while managing conflicting priorities.
  • Strong influencing, written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills at all levels.
  • Experience in regulated financial services and operational resilience.
  • Excellent understanding of operational resilience disciplines and regulatory expectations, including PS21/3 and SS1/21.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory requirements (FCA and PRA) for a dual‑regulated bank (SM&CR, SYSC, etc).
  • Knowledge of key technology services, service delivery and management disciplines, and operational resilience.
  • Experience coordinating cross‑organisation governance forums, collating and creating forum papers, and tracking actions through to conclusion.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including drafting for different internal and external audiences at varying levels of seniority.
  • Good knowledge of risk management and controls in financial services.
