Join us as an Operational Resilience Manager, Governance

  • In this specialist role, you’ll be providing the knowledge, skills and support required deliver Group-wide governance activities for the Operational Resilience Centre of Excellence.
  • We’ll rely on your UK operational resilience subject matter expertise , and the processes to successfully deliver key activities such as governance forums and Board updates, including the annual self-assessment.

What you’ll do

As an Operational Resilience Manager, you’ll be partnering with stakeholders across NatWest Group to support the delivery of key operational resilience governance activities.

You’ll leverage your experience as a UK regulatory and governance specialist to drive the delivery of key activities such as engagement with the FCA / PRA and contributing to NWG governance forums, including at Board level.

You’ll also be:

  • Working with stakeholders across NWG to drive the delivery of key operational resilience governance and regulatory engagement activities
  • Collaborating with your team to provide insights into best practice and using analysis, experience, and judgement to support internal decision making and input into external consultations
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to establish strong relationships across NWG, including business and functional leads, Risk, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Delivering high quality written corporate documents such as the annual Operational Resilience Self-Assessment

The skills you’ll need

We’re looking for someone with excellent management skills and experience, and the ability to motivate others while managing conflicting priorities. You\’ll have strong influencing, written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to operate effectively at all levels. You’ll also have a experience of working in regulated financial services, and operational resilience.

In addition to this, you’ll demonstrate:

  • An excellent understanding of operational resilience disciplines and regulatory expectations, including the UK regime set out in PS21/3 and SS1/21
  • Strong knowledge of wider UK regulatory requirements (FCA and PRA) for a dual-regulated bank e.g. SM&CR, SYSC etc
  • Knowledge of key technology services, service delivery and management disciplines, and operational resilience
  • Experience co-ordinating cross-organisation governance forums, collating and creating forum papers, and tracking actions through to conclusion
  • Excellent written communication skills, including drafting for different internal and external audiences at varying levels of seniority
  • Good knowledge of risk management and controls in financial services
