Join us as a Model Risk Governance Manager

  • You’ll play a key role in establishing and overseeing Model Risk governance across the Economic Crime Hub
  • You’ll help make sure models are monitored effectively, governance requirements are met and remedial actions are delivered to completion
  • We’ll provide a great platform to develop your expertise as part of the Model Risk team within the Data, Analytics and Assurance
  • You’ll work from home some of the time, but you’ll also spend a minimum 2 days per week working from the office

What you’ll do

As a Model Risk Governance Manager, you’ll establish the governance processes, reporting and oversight needed to monitor model performance, assess compliance and track actions through to resolution. You’ll also design and own the supporting governance artefacts and coordinate inputs from across the Economic Crime Hub to enable effective risk management and informed decision‑making. Working closely with model owners, senior stakeholders and governance forums, you’ll help make sure model risks are understood, managed and reported appropriately across the business.

Your work will focus on:

  • Reviewing model performance, assurance findings and risk indicators to assess model effectiveness and support Economic Crime objectives
  • Working with Model SROs to coordinate key metrics, performance measures and risk indicators
  • Highlighting key risks, emerging developments requiring senior management attention
  • Supporting onward reporting and escalation into Franchise, Economic Crime and wider bank governance forums
  • Providing effective leadership and support to team members

The skills you’ll need

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring experience developing, implementing and maintaining governance frameworks, alongside the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders. You’ll have strong organisation skills and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

You’ll also need:

  • Experience in governance and risk management, ideally within Economic Crime and model risk
  • Strong communication skills, presenting complex information clearly and effectively to a range of audiences
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a thorough and disciplined approach to delivery
  • The ability to anticipate needs, adapt to changing priorities and work proactively
