Join us as a Market Abuse Risk Assessment Associate. This is a challenging and engaging role, where you’ll establish and implement robust risk and control assurance testing governance related to market abuse. You’ll be providing an impartial assessment and independent guidance, based on best practices, to a variety of risk and governance related topics. Hone your existing industry knowledge and experience and expand your network across the bank.
What you'll do:
- Work in close partnership with the respective line teams to monitor, assess, report and analyse controls, resultant risk issues, trends and governance processes.
- Achieve the right balance of assisting and challenging line management and colleagues to ensure market abuse risk is proactively managed.
- Manage the risk and control proactively in the first line of defence and act as a bridge between the business and the regional operations controls management and the second line of defence.
- Review and enhance the control framework to manage the risks within the unit, with constant engagement with colleagues and line management.
- Manage the risk issue and event management process along with the related reporting and MI.
- Track remedial activity and risk acceptance, as appropriate, across first and second line of defence teams.
- Assess the effectiveness of existing market abuse controls, other related risk and control assurance controls and knowledge gaps through assurance testing.
The skills you'll need:
- Market abuse experience and exposure in risk and control.
- Effective relationship building and communication skills, with the ability to adapt your delivery style and language to suit the audience and communicate to people at various levels.
- Good attention to detail and influencing and analytical skills.
- A good understanding of banking operations.
- Presentation skills, with the ability to present complex issues and solutions to mixed audiences and resolve conflicts and complexity by delivering practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- A strong team player, promoting an effective team environment.
