Join us as a Financial Planning Advice Market Leader in Private Banking. Lead and develop a high-performing team of regulated Financial Planning Advisers, shaping performance, capability and client outcomes across the balanced business scorecard. Play a visible leadership role in delivering strategic growth ambitions, while helping build an inclusive, high-performing and client-focused culture. Take on a role with genuine breadth and influence, where your leadership can shape both team success and the long-term evolution of our financial planning proposition. You’ll work from home some of the time but you’ll also spend at least three days a week in the office working with our team and clients.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the performance, development and day-to-day direction of a team of talented Regulated Financial Planning Advisers.
- Create the conditions for your team to perform at their best, role model the standards and behaviours we expect, and help ensure our financial planning offering continues to reflect the quality, judgement and care our clients expect from Coutts.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the wider Financial Planning team, supporting sustainable growth while operating within risk appetite.
- Bring clarity, credibility and energy to your leadership, inspiring confidence across your team and building strong partnerships across the wider business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, coaching and performance managing a team of regulated Financial Planning Advisers to deliver excellent client outcomes, strong commercial performance and consistently high standards.
- Driving team performance across key metrics and minimum standards, whilst maintaining a strong focus on exceptional client service and client-led outcomes.
- Providing high-quality sales leadership and skills coaching through one-to-ones, performance oversight and effective use of workflow management systems.
- Owning the risk and quality metrics across your area, ensuring robust mechanisms are in place to identify, mitigate and report risks within defined appetite.
- Shaping and delivering the strategic and commercial priorities for your region or client group, whilst contributing to the long-term success of the wider Wealth Private Bank function.
- Building strong internal and external networks, using market insight, feedback and continuous improvement to help keep our services and solutions distinctive and market-leading.
The skills you’ll need:
- Appropriate Training and Competence check clearance, alongside a strong personal and professional record.
- RDR-compliant Level 4 qualification in financial advice and Planning, with a willingness to study towards any further qualifications required for the role.
- A strong track record of leading regulated adviser teams with substantial experience in management or leadership, across multiple office locations.
- Career experience as a financial adviser or player-manager in a comparable business, with experience of managing a client book and providing financial planning advice across structured and or wrapped products.
- A strong understanding of client journey, process improvement, and how to translate the voice of the customer into better outcomes.
- A deep understanding of client service excellence, financial Planning, relationship management, quality management and risk mitigation.
- Experience in private banking, wealth management, core banking, asset management or investment management, with a strong grounding in financial planning and adviser leadership.
- A strong record of managing individual and team KPI performance, including forecasting, reporting, sales pipeline oversight and escalated client relationships.
- The ability to navigate multiple and complex stakeholder relationships with confidence and credibility.
- A strong awareness of financial markets, advice and planning regulation, legislation and investment products.
- A proven ability to retain and grow business, while mentoring, stretching and developing high-performing teams.
- Sound judgement, commercial strength and a leadership style that combines high standards with strong coaching capability.
