Join us as a DevOps Engineer, Network AutomationWe’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our Network Automation team, helping design, build and operate automation capabilities that make network and infrastructure services faster, safer and more reliableYou’ll work across automation, infrastructure-as-code and network-as-code practices, supporting secure, compliant and auditable change within a highly regulated financial services environmentThis is your opportunity to deepen your expertise across modern automation, cloud-native platforms and AI-enabled engineering while working on business-critical infrastructureWhat you'll doAs a DevOps Engineer, you’ll help develop and enhance automation patterns, pipelines and tools that support network and infrastructure services from concept through to operational support. Working closely with engineers, platform teams and service owners, you’ll build reusable automation, improve delivery efficiency and embed DevOps best practice across the engineering lifecycle.You’ll also be:Designing, building and maintaining network and infrastructure automation using modern DevOps practicesDelivering automation through code-based CI/CD pipelines, with GitLab experience helping you hit the ground runningApplying infrastructure-as-code and network-as-code principles to create repeatable, controlled and auditable delivery patternsEmbedding security, compliance and risk controls into automation and pipeline designSupporting automated change, incident and operational workflows, including ServiceNow integration where appropriateWorking with container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes to support automation services and workloadsExploring practical uses of AI-enabled tooling and workflows to improve operational efficiency, engineering productivity and service reliabilityThe skills you'll needWe’re looking for someone with hands-on engineering experience, a strong automation mindset and a solid understanding of enterprise networking. You’ll be comfortable working in a DevOps environment where quality, security and operational resilience are built into every stage of delivery. You’ll also bring experience of network automation within large-scale financial services or other regulated environments.You'll also need experience using AI-enabled tooling to improve engineering outcomes, and scripting capability in Python and Shell for automation workflows, integrations and operational tooling, along with hands-on experience with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform for network and infrastructure automation at scale.You’ll also demonstrate:Experience delivering automation through code-based CI/CD pipelines, with knowledge of GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar platformsSolid understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including DNS, LDAP, load balancing and traffic managementAbility to embed security practices into CI/CD pipelines so changes are compliant, auditable and risk-aware.Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar IT service management tooling for change, incident and workflow automationExperience with OpenShift, Kubernetes or similar container for deployment and workload managementHours35Job Posting Closing Date:02/09/2026Ways of Working:Remote FirstSummaryLocation: Edinburgh; Glasgow; LondonType: Full time
