Overview
In this role, you will lead Independent Price Verification (IPV) audit activities to provide independent assurance over Front Office traded instruments. You’ll drive a risk-based assurance plan, coordinate with Internal Audit teams, and ensure regulatory compliance. You’ll mentor the team, manage delivery to budget and schedule, and influence business managers to strengthen controls. This is a chance to shape IPV governance within a global bank and develop the function’s reputation for quality and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Lead IPV audit engagements and assurance planning across the risk-based IPV domain
- Oversee fieldwork to deliver reliable evidence and timely issues/opinions
- Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations
- Coordinate with other Internal Audit teams and ensure global methodology compliance
- Act as ambassador for Internal Audit and uphold professional standards
- Coach and develop the audit team, delivering value through quality audits
- Maintain up-to-date audit management tooling and methodologies
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand business risks and strengthen controls
Key requirements
- Experienced IPV internal auditor with strong risk management knowledge
- Ability to lead teams in complex, global banking environments
- Supervisory experience in Product Control, IPV, or similar function
- Deep product knowledge across investment bank balance sheets (FX, bonds, repos)
- Knowledge of Fair Value and IPV regulatory frameworks UK and abroad
- Familiarity with Pillar 1, Pillar 2, ICAAP, ILAAP, recovery and resolution planning (advantage)
- Strong accounting and regulatory understanding of derivatives, bonds, repos (UK)
- Proven stakeholder management and ability to challenge/influence
- Experience coaching and developing audit teams
- Knowledge of risk management disciplines (capital, liquidity, credit, market, operations) and balance sheet control
- Experience in agile audit methodology
