NatWest Group plc (NWG) is a UK-focused banking organisation, serving over 19 million customers, with business operations across retail, commercial, and private banking markets. As part of its succession planning, NatWest Group is seeking to recruit an additional Independent Non-Executive Director (βiNEDβ) to the Boards of NWG and NatWest Holdings Limited, the holding company of the bankβs ring-fenced operations including retail, commercial, and private banking businesses. This vacancy is being publicly advertised in accordance with the Ring-fenced Bodies part of the Prudential Regulatory Authority Rulebook.
THE ROLE: Attend and contribute to Board and Committee meetings, providing input, independent oversight, and challenge to management. Oversee the development and implementation of business strategy, offering constructive challenge and external perspective to Board discussions. Support the Chairman in setting the tone from the top on culture and overseeing actions taken by management.
THE PERSON: Financially literate, with significant experience in investment banking, including capital markets and M&A. Ability to add value through wise counsel and advice based on relevant experience and a successful track record. Capable of meeting applicable regulatory requirements, including those related to Board Committee appointments.
