We’ll look to you to build and maintain strong, trusted working relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, providing insight, review, and challenge where it matters most. As a key member of our team, you’ll have high visibility across Finance, with the opportunity to shape how Banking Product Control evolves. You'll spend some of your time working from home, and come into the office a few days per week.
What you'll do:
- As Head of Banking Product Control, you’ll be responsible for the integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, including the balance sheet, profit and loss account, internal and external reporting, and other supporting data.
- You’ll also help shape the future Banking Product Control operating model, with the objective of delivering strategic value through simplification, automation, stronger controls, and clearer accountability, while establishing and maintaining the trust and confidence of stakeholders.
- Through the course of your work, you’ll be:
- Reviewing, challenging, and escalating the adequacy and effectiveness of the business’s controls.
- Leading high-quality analytical review of product, franchise, and legal entity outcomes, providing clear insight and commentary on financial movements, judgements, notable items, and emerging risks.
- Leading delivery across BAU and change priorities, ensuring high-quality outputs, resolving issues at pace, and balancing short-term deadlines with longer-term operating model improvement.
- Building strong cross-location and cross-functional partnerships, creating a clear, consistent, and well-controlled service for stakeholders.
- Driving automation, simplification, and standardisation of product control, eliminating non-value-add work and improving transparency, control quality, and future-ready capability across the team.
The skills you'll need:
- To succeed in this role, you must bring significant post-qualification experience in Banking Product Control, Financial Control, or broader banking finance leadership, along with strong knowledge of banking products and their accounting and control implications.
- You’ll also need to have experience working at a senior management level, leading teams through change while influencing across functions, locations, and senior stakeholder groups.
- In addition, we’ll look to you to bring:
- Experience in providing senior management with high-quality financial insight and control information.
- The credibility to build and sustain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, while providing effective review, challenge, and escalation on technical, control, and delivery matters.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex accounting, control, reporting, and change issues clearly and succinctly to senior management.
- A proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs in a complex control environment, while meeting demanding deadlines.
