Join us as a Financial Planning Advice Team Leader in Private Banking. We’ll look to you to take on direct line management responsibility by leading, performance managing and coaching a team of Regulated Financial Planning Advisers across the balanced business scorecard. Day-to-day, you’ll support our market’s strategic initiatives to help achieve our growth target and create a diverse and inclusive culture. You’ll work from home some of the time but you’ll also spend at least three days a week working from the office.

What you’ll do

  • Focus on the line management and development of your team of Regulated Financial Advisers and ensure that all actions are aligned with our purpose.
  • Contribute to making our bank a great place to work by role-modelling behaviours.
  • Assist with the delivery of the strategic direction of our client group to enable growth, while remaining within risk appetite.
  • Provide inspiring leadership across your team by communicating clearly and with impact.
  • Achieve team performance across all minimum standards and key performance indicators, providing great leadership to your team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional client services, as measured by our client metrics.
  • Provide sales management and performance-based skills coaching to your team to achieve great client outcomes through one-to-ones and the use of workflow systems.
  • Own the risk and quality metrics that exist in your business area and ensure that mechanisms are in place to identify, mitigate and report risk within a defined risk appetite.
  • Form and deliver the strategic and commercial objectives for the region or client group, as well as the Private Banking function to ensure it is fit for purpose in the long-term.
  • Maintain and develop an internal and external network and provide continuous improvement feedback to ensure our services and solutions are market-leading.

The skills you’ll need

  • A necessary Training and Competence check clearance along with a clear personal and professional record.
  • An RDR compliant level 4 qualification in financial advice and planning, with a willingness to study towards any further required qualifications.
  • A track record of 5 years or more of managing and leading a team of Regulated Financial Advisers across multiple locations.
  • Career experience of being a financial adviser or player manager in a similar business, with experience of managing a book of clients and giving financial planning advice across structured and/or wrapped products.
  • Knowledge of process improvements and an understanding of the voice of the customer, client journey, and product and service strategy.
  • An understanding of the value of client service excellence and knowledge of retail client relationship management, financial planning, quality management, and risk mitigation.
  • A background in private banking, core banking, wealth management, asset management, or investment management and experience in financial planning or leading a team of financial planners or advisers.
  • Experience of managing individual and team KPI performance, including producing forecasts and reporting and managing escalated client relationships and all aspects of the pipeline and sales performance management.
  • The ability to manage multiple and complex internal stakeholder relationships and an awareness of financial markets, advice, planning, legislation, and investment products.
  • Experience of client business retention and development, a track record of successful business growth, and the ability to mentor and coach a team.
