Join us as a Data Centre Network Engineer. You’ll collaborate on building the best possible solutions for public and private network environments, engineering infrastructure that meets security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements with observability and guardrails built in. You’ll use automation where it adds value to deliver infrastructure and reliable routes-to-live for our customer applications and services.
Work with colleagues across the bank to share engineering best practice, providing thought leadership while developing practical, high-quality solutions.
What you'll do
- Maintain, install, support and optimise network infrastructure to customer needs, strategic targets and architecture outcomes.
- Develop products using modern engineering practices and tools.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to design and evolve network infrastructure.
- Manage the lifecycle of our network products.
- Support engineered products to meet customer demand, deliver new features, resolve production issues and help customers consume our products effectively.

- Developing technical skills through continuous learning and development.
- Contributing to infrastructure-as-code solutions.
- Providing operational support for application or service-related issues.
- Working with key vendors in resolving technical issues.
The skills you'll need
Innovation and customer experience sit at the heart of this role. We’re looking for someone with knowledge of relevant industry toolsets and processes to enhance customer service in an IT environment. You'll have strong knowledge of Cisco Data Centre Network Architecture, the TCP/IP suite, and networking technologies including software-defined networking, ACI, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, IOS, NX-OS, and core network design concepts.
You’ll also need
- Knowledge of, or interest in, APIs and automation tools, methodologies and practices such as Ansible.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues and management.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- A solid background in Agile or DevOps with continuous delivery and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller, Multisite, VxLAN EVPN, GitLab and Cisco Network-as-Code is desirable but not essential.
