Join us as a Business Risk Partner, Transaction Services Commercial & InstitutionalPartner with senior business leaders to identify, assess, manage and report risk, supporting strategic objectives within risk appetite and a robust control environmentYou’ll provide insight, constructive challenge and practical support across risk appetite, control effectiveness, governance, regulatory change and business transformationBuild valuable relationships across the organisation while helping shape a strong, proactive and commercially focused risk cultureWhat you’ll doIn this pivotal role, you’ll help drive the effective application of the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (EWRMF), enabling activities across Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), risk appetite, control effectiveness, issue management and risk event execution. You’ll also support governance activities, providing reporting, escalation and decision-making insight across relevant business and risk forums.Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you’ll promote a practical and commercially focused approach to risk management. We'll look to you to strengthen risk awareness, improve control effectiveness and support better outcomes for customers, colleagues and the business.Your work will focus on:Building strong relationships across the Three Lines of Defence and specialist teams, enabling effective risk conversations and collaborative problem-solvingMaintaining a clear and forward-looking view of the risk profile, connecting themes across controls, issues, events, governance and management informationProviding constructive challenge on business activities, products, services and change initiatives to support sustainable growth and customer outcomesLeading or supporting the remediation of risks outside appetite, control weaknesses and audit or regulatory actions, making sure sustainable solutions are implementedPromoting a positive risk culture while driving simplification and continuous improvement across risk and control practicesThe skills you'll needWe’re looking for someone with significant experience in business risk management, risk partnering, controls, governance or a related financial services discipline. You’ll bring strong understanding of the EWRMF and practical experience applying risk appetite, RCSA, control effectiveness, issue management and risk event frameworks. Experience operating within a complex regulated environment, translating policy, regulatory and framework requirements into practical business outcomes and informed risk decisions is also essential.You’ll demonstrate:The ability to identify emerging and interconnected risks, draw insights from risk data and translate complex information into clear business recommendationsExperience influencing senior stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and building trusted business relationshipsStrong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear risk reporting and governance materialsA proven track record of simplifying processes and driving continuous improvement across risk management practicesHours35Job Posting Closing Date:11/09/2026Ways of Working:HybridSummaryLocation: Birmingham; Manchester; Edinburgh; LondonType: Full time
