Apprenticeship – Digital X

Digital X brings together our digital, data, and engineering expertise to create simple, secure experiences and deliver innovative solutions that help the bank move faster and make banking better for everyone.

Programme length: 13 months

Location: Edinburgh

Our people work in different ways depending on their roles, and apprentices follow their team’s approach, which may be onsite or hybrid depending on the job.

What you'll do

As a Business Administration Apprentice, you’ll conduct a wide and varied range of administration activities to support your team. You’ll also learn how headcount and workforce data is tracked and reported.

Day to day you’ll be:

  • Workforce & Financial Awareness: Support accurate staff records and organisational charts, and develop an understanding of headcount tracking, budgeting, expenses, and financial controls.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Observe approval processes, audit trails, and assist with preparing documentation for compliance and control checks.
  • Cross-Team Shadowing & Learning: Shadow HR, Finance, and Operations teams to understand workflows, actively participate in discussions and produce brief learning summaries.
  • General Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, reporting, meeting coordination, office supplies and correspondence.

Eligibility

Our apprenticeships are designed for people new to the subject. If you already have substantial experience or qualifications in this area, you may be overqualified. Please check our FAQs before applying.

You’ll also need to have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme. Unfortunately, this role does not meet Skilled Worker Visa requirements.
