Join us as a Building Services Shift Technician and take on a new challenge in our Data Centre team in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and critical role, supporting the safe and efficient operation of essential mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems.

Working within a 24/7/365 environment, you will act as a trusted partner across operations, collaborating with teams to enhance processes, improve performance, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

What you'll do:

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring the ongoing performance and reliability of all facility services.
  • Act as the key interface for any projects within the property, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace with planned and reactive maintenance, through the helpdesk and supply partners.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment through planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring 100% uptime.
  • Deliver facilities services in line with approved procedures, standards, and service level agreements.
  • Support M&E upgrades, project work, and infrastructure investment initiatives.
  • Manage and control permit-to-work systems for maintenance and project activities.
  • Monitor and review key performance indicators, identifying trends and implementing improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, quality processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage supplier and contractor relationships to optimise performance and value for money.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on facilities operations, risk, and compliance.

The skills you'll need:

  • A solid technical background and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with building services and M&E systems in a critical environment.
  • Strong understanding of risk, compliance, and safety management practices.
