Join us as a Director in Coverage & Sector Content, Industrials & Transport. We’ll look to you to maintain and grow a portfolio of high-profile, large corporate transport sector relationships, leading all aspects of business delivery. You’ll be developing and maintaining a strong network of partnerships across all relevant internal stakeholders to deliver bank capabilities to chosen clients. This is an exciting time in the sector, and you’ll get the opportunity to support our clients through the implementation of their transition and business strategies. This role is available for a period of six months, in which time you’ll directly support the bank to maintain excellent customer relationships and a well performing portfolio in a team that holds a leading position in the UK market.
What you'll do:
- You’ll help to set and implement our sector strategy to manage successful and profitable relationships across a portfolio which includes customers in the bus, rail, ports, and aviation sub-sectors.
- Throughout the course of your role, you’ll help to present the bank as the leading partner to customers in the sector.
- You’ll also demonstrate and develop key skills and knowledge in the fundamentals of corporate financing, while developing trusted relationships with customers.
- Leading on origination activity across financing and transaction banking products, supported by the wider team.
- Leading commercial thinking with chosen clients, and positioning the bank as the first point of call.
- Driving business engagement with external stakeholders to maintain a positive profile within the relevant markets.
- Working with the team in all aspects of commercial strategy and internal stakeholder management, as well as in the growth of both internal and client stakeholder relationships.
- Working on the design and production of sector led content to support client conversations.
- Assessing and executing event driven and general financing opportunities, including reviewing returns modelling and pursuing deposits.
The skills you'll need:
- We are looking for an experienced finance professional with a banking or corporate finance background.
- You’ll have an understanding of the industry, credit parameters, and appetite, as well as an awareness of rating agencies and other stakeholder views to frame customer and sector requirements and deliver appropriate solutions to meet those requirements.
- You’ll demonstrate knowledge of the credit qualities and challenges around the transport sector.
- Given the bank’s focus on transition and climate, you’ll also need to understand key policy approaches to ESG.
- An understanding of the core product set including lending, debt capital markets, rates, FX, cash management, and trade finance will be advantageous.
- You’ll also need knowledge or experience of the industrials and transport sectors.
- A practical understanding of credit and wider risk management disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build a good stakeholder network both internally and externally.
- A track record of working collaboratively with others to build business success.
- Strong time management, project management, and workflow management skills.
- A proven ability to solve complex problems.
