Join us in London, specialising in Insurance Investment and Asset Liability Management. This role provides direct support to Solutions Sales and DCM within our FIG Coverage business, working with customers and colleagues to develop market-leading financing, risk management / ALM and investment solutions. The role assists with the development of hedging solutions across NatWest’s product offering (rates, inflation, FX, financing) and the delivery of key pieces of thematic content (e.g. peer reviews, analysis of regulatory communications and the development of pitches).
Responsibilities
- Work with colleagues from across the bank to provide high quality services to our insurance clients.
- Support the delivery of rates, financing and risk solutions to the insurance client base through the provision of market-leading content and analysis and by developing and maintaining strong relationships, establishing a reputation as a recognised expert in the insurance industry.
- Help ensure transaction structures are market leading, sound and appropriately negotiated and documented.
- Maintain and develop NatWest’s long-established reputation in the UK insurance market, including through direct client interactions, development of publications, contributing to working groups, attending and speaking at industry events.
- Take responsibility for personal training and development, to ensure your professional capability meets the needs of the bank.
- Undertake the proactive identification and effective management of risk, to deliver key customer outcomes.
Qualifications
- Fellow of the IFoA (1-2yrs PQE) or equivalent, relevant profession background.
- Clear understanding of key ALM challenges facing UK insurance companies (in particular, annuity writers and life insurance consolidators) combined with knowledge of the key components of insurers’ regulatory and accounting balance sheets and constraints imposed by the Matching Adjustment (MA).
- Theoretical or practical understanding of derivative pricing models and experience with discounted cash flow models.
- Understanding of how insurance businesses work, including key personnel and an awareness of strategy and key regulatory challenges and developments.
- Track-record demonstrating effective communication of technical concepts.
- Strong desire to build a client-facing profile and support with the delivery of transactions.
