Join us as a Business Solution Designer, Operations Centre of Expertise

  • In this critical role, you’ll help us redefine Operations in Natwest. This is a high-profile role in the Operations Centre of Excellence (Ops CoE), designing, delivering, and realizing fantastic business solutions across the Bank.
  • You’ll be delivering the five-year pan-bank strategic vision for Operations, transforming the operational capability across the bank and helping us shape the future of our operations by delivering innovative digital and AI-powered solutions.

What you’ll do

As a Business Solution Designer, you’ll engage with relevant stakeholders as a single point of contact for strategy and design aspects. You’ll take ownership of the operational strategy and end-to-end high-level business design for a project, programme, or initiative. You’ll represent the strategy and design function at governance forums and work with cross-business stakeholders to ensure standards and principles are adhered to. You’ll also analyze requirements into coherent end-to-end designs, taking the business strategy and architecture into account.

Other duties include:

  • Using key datasets to shape the strategic priorities for Ops CoE, enabling a better colleague and customer experience.
  • Translating requirements into a series of transition state designs and an executable roadmap through engagement with key stakeholder groups.
  • Driving and delivering cost-effective designs for the business and aligning solutions with the corresponding business or IT architecture.
  • Working with a range of senior stakeholders from across the Franchises and Functions to identify investment priorities, define opportunities, and shape initiatives to meet our strategic goals.
  • Documenting the relevant design in accordance with standard methods.
  • Ensuring the business solution design is aligned with the strategic direction of the Ops CoE function and portfolio target state.

The skills you’ll need

You’ll already have a background in strategy, transformation, and business solution design, with significant experience of using industry-standard models and tools. Alongside good communication skills, you’ll need the ability to lead and collaborate with both internal and external teams.

We’ll also want to see:

  • Knowledge of operations and relevant tools and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of the technical domain with an understanding of key elements.
  • A broad understanding of the financial services environment and regulatory frameworks.
  • An expert understanding of external influences and advances that impact design.
