Join us as a Business Development Director. You’ll drive the growth agenda for the Mid-Corporate Asset Finance market by shaping new opportunities and deepening the relationships that power sustainable business development. Be the key connector between customers, partners and internal teams, making sure our business development approach is coordinated, targeted and commercially effective. This is a hybrid role based in central London with travel across London and the Southeast.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the growth of our Mid-Corporate Asset Finance business by developing new business avenues, strengthening external relationships and strengthening our position in key sectors.
  • Use market insight and strong commercial judgement to spot trends, shape sales strategies, stay ahead of industry development and guide Coverage teams toward sustained growth and innovation.
  • Influence lending and other key strategic priorities, build trust with intermediaries, and enhance the customer experience across the region.
  • Ensure key business objectives are met in line with our values, and that we operate within the training and competence framework to deliver accurate, relevant customer communication.

Your work will focus on:

  • Designing and refining business development strategies by analysing markets, monitoring trends and aligning plans to Mid-Corporate priorities.
  • Building and expanding long-term relationships with intermediaries, business leaders and partners to uncover and progress opportunities.
  • Delivering business plans and KPIs for intermediary panels, driving satisfaction and feedback measures, and resolving concerns at first contact.
  • Boosting visibility in high-growth sectors by shaping clear plans with key stakeholders and sharing best practices across the network.
  • Securing compliant, well-controlled delivery by meeting legal and regulatory requirements and completing control tasks to the required standard.
  • Leading strong risk management by swiftly identifying, reporting and escalating Financial Crime and Fraud risks.

The skills you'll need:

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to possess significant Commercial Mid-Market experience and combine deep product and funding knowledge with the credibility and influence to engage senior partners and deliver growth. A deep understanding of the Mid-Corporate landscape and strong market awareness to shape credible plans and compelling customer conversations are necessary, as well. You’ll also adapt to changing priorities and maintain high performance under pressure, re-prioritising with clarity to keep delivery on track.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial and business acumen grounded in macroeconomic and sector insight.
  • Advanced interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and networking skills.
  • Proven capability in presenting, customer engagement, relationship building, time management.
  • The Diploma in Lending Skills, or a commitment to complete it within 18 months.
