Join us as a DevOps Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to building our DevSecOps platform engineering capability, culture and mindsets within NatWest Rooster Money. Promoting technical and cultural change, you’ll be accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of our Platform Engineering centre of excellence technical practices and techniques. As you build relationships with your colleagues, you’ll be making sure that decisions are commercially focused and create long term value for the bank. There will be internal and external stakeholder management required in relation to working with Group Security and external suppliers.

As a DevSecOps Engineer within our Security and Platform Engineering team, you will play a key role in mentoring and coaching feature teams to drive continuous improvement and enhance the overall customer experience. You will assess existing architectures, engineering practices, and security principles to identify opportunities for improvement. Working collaboratively, you’ll guide teams in addressing these gaps through practical remediation, best practice adoption, and ongoing knowledge sharing.

You’ll also be:

  • Demonstrating how to measure, understand and visualise the flow and delivery of value through adopting DevOps tools, techniques and processes.
  • Advising teams across platform and within the centre of excellence on which DevOps capability uplifts would be best suited to their needs and abilities.
  • Providing feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices and associated DevOps tooling.
  • Making sure decisions made are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management.
  • Leading on Vulnerability Management, Endpoint Security and Proxy rules.

The skills you'll need:

We’re looking for someone with experience of implementing best practice architecture and having the ability to remediate misconfigured services and infrastructure within a cloud environment. You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Experience of deploying business critical systems to production in cloud environments.
  • Experience of Terraform and CDK.
  • Knowledge of proxy configurations and networking.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing Cloud Security best practices.
  • Knowledge and experience of portfolio management theories, models and practices within an Agile or DevOps environment.
  • An expert background in tools such as MS Office, MSP, Planview, Oracle and SharePoint.
