Join us in C&I Business Risk as an Operational Risk Manager. You’ll act as the subject matter expert for Level 2 and Level 3 Operational Risks, helping drive effective risk management across Commercial & Institutional. We’ll look to you to use insight and analysis to identify risk trends, emerging themes and opportunities for improvement, supporting better business outcomes.

Broaden your risk management experience across a diverse range of operational risk themes and business activities as you step into this important role.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide specialist risk management support to Business Risk Partners across Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), issue management and wider risk oversight activities.
  • Help strengthen the control environment and support effective risk management across the franchise.
  • Work closely with Business Risk Partners and stakeholders across the business to identify emerging risks, support risk assessments and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage operational risk exposure, coordinating monthly Level 2 Operational Risk Appetite reporting and analysing trends to identify themes and improvement opportunities.
  • Work with business teams and stakeholders to maintain Risk Appetite Statements and implement changes arising from the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework (EWRMF).
  • Support environmental and business change activities, recommending updates where impacts span multiple RCSAs across C&I RFB.
  • Analyse emerging themes across Level 2 and Level 3 Operational Risk areas and provide insight to support risk management decisions.
  • Support franchise-wide projects and initiatives linked to Level 2 Risks, including attestations, working groups and governance activities.

The skills you’ll need:

Our bank is committed to building a strong and proactive risk culture. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring experience in both Operational Risk and Commercial Banking. You’ll have a strong understanding of the bank’s EWRMF framework, with experience applying risk management principles in practice. You’ll also need experience in Product & Transformation or Operations & Payments.
