Overview

In this role you support the Business Risk Partner and business teams to identify, assess, monitor, and report enterprise-wide risk. You enable safe growth in line with strategic goals and transformation, helping deliver consistent customer outcomes. You provide real-time risk oversight and governance insights to inform decisions across the three lines of defence. You will help maintain effective controls, risk data integrity, and timely remediation in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted contact for the business, providing real-time oversight of the end-to-end risk profile and supporting Risk and Control Self-Assessments.
  • Deliver intelligent insight through engagement with business leaders across all three lines of defence to ensure effective risk management and informed decision-making.
  • Analyze risk and control data (events, issues, MI) to identify control weaknesses and support remediation actions.
  • Coordinate risk and control assessments, risk forums, governance reporting, and remediation plans; escalate emerging risks with constructive recommendations.
  • Lead risk reporting into nominated forums, publish minutes, and ensure timely closure of actions.
  • Track remediation, audit, and regulatory actions through to closure, ensuring evidence quality and timely action.
  • Oversee risk and control data in systems of record to provide an accurate, real-time view for stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement simple, consistent risk practices and support continuous improvement in day-to-day risk management.

Key requirements

  • Experience with enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, including control design, governance, oversight, data analysis, and risk culture.
  • Ability to translate policy and framework requirements into practical day-to-day risk and control activities for colleagues.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret MI, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver clear recommendations.
  • Effective stakeholder management across all three lines of defence.
  • Experience aligned to the business area (e.g., Customer Distribution, Lending/Product, Digital Banking, or Technology).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
