This role plays a critical part in ensuring clinicians can deliver accurate diagnostics and high-quality patient care. You will work directly with healthcare professionals, providing technical expertise, system support, and training while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and commission EEG, EMG, and associated neurodiagnostic systems within hospital and clinical environments.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and safety checks in line with regulatory standards and company quality systems.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring rapid resolution to minimise clinical disruption.
  • Carry out repairs and system upgrades to optimise equipment performance and reliability.
  • Configure systems within hospital IT networks (including basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting).
  • Provide onsite user training and technical guidance to clinicians and hospital staff.
  • Complete detailed service reports, calibration documentation, and installation records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support both onsite and remote technical queries, acting as a key point of contact for customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Technical Support, Sales, Product Specialists) to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a Field Service Engineer role within medical devices, healthcare technology, or a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems, medical instrumentation, or clinical diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience supporting systems in hospital settings, with an understanding of clinical workflows.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and (ideally) basic networking environments.
  • Excellent customer‑facing communication skills, with the ability to train and support clinical users.
  • Ability to manage workload independently while covering a field-based territory.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Typically 3–5 years’ experience in field service or technical support, ideally within medical devices or life sciences.
  • Degree or qualification in Electronics Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, IT, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience with EEG, EMG, imaging, or similar diagnostic systems is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and quality standards (e.g., ISO, clinical safety standards) is a plus.
