Overview

Nature and Therapy are the leading Forest Bathing training company in the UK, and have pioneered innovative and exceptional accredited training programmes for students recruited globally. We are now in our 9th year of offering training courses and continue to grow, evolving a new community focussed CIC working with Cancer groups, GP practices and offering interventions in Nature to support mental health.

Role Description

This part-time, 16hrs per week on-site Operations Manager role is based in Ashburton and is responsible for overseeing the efficient day-to-day running of operational activities, including administrative and networking tasks. The Operations Manager will oversee managing staff resources, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that processes, policies, and procedures are followed and continuously improved. The Operations Manager will monitor performance metrics, manage budgets and resource allocation, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and institutional standards. The role also involves collaborating with academic and professional services teams, resolving operational issues, and supporting initiatives that enhance service quality and user experience. The Operations Manager will be expected to contribute to strategic planning, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and inclusivity.

Qualifications

  • Strong operational management and organizational skills, with experience overseeing day-to-day service delivery and process improvement.
  • Proven people management abilities, including team leadership, workload planning, performance management, and staff development.
  • Competence in budgeting, financial monitoring, and effective use of resources to meet operational targets.
  • A strong interest in Nature, trees, Ecology, Sustainable practices and mental health are desirable, as is a robust sense of humour and easy going approachable manner.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, manage risk, and implement effective solutions.
  • High level of digital literacy, including experience with management information systems such as Trello, Mailerlite, Canva and Notion, productivity tools, and data reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple demands, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience in higher education, public sector, or a similarly complex organization is desirable.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in operations, management, business administration, or a related field.
