About Naturalmat
At Naturalmat we’ve been hand making organic beds & mattresses at our workshop on the banks of the river Exe in Devon since 1999. We buy all of our raw materials direct from source, we manufacture everything ourselves and we only sell direct to customer via our own showrooms and website. It’s this level of control that allows us to offer the best possible product and experience to our customers.
Sustainability has been at our core since day one. We’ve always used natural, organic materials from renewable sources, we pioneered sustainable packaging, and installed solar panels on the roof of our workshop. In 2020 we received a Queen’s Award for Sustainable Development and in 2023 we became the first B Corp certified bed & mattress company in the UK.
We’ve recently opened a new head office, workshop & showroom on our existing site in Topsham and are fortunate to be growing fast as a business. We currently have showrooms in London, Devon, Knutsford, the Cotswolds and Dorking, and plan to open more around the country each year.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced E-Commerce Manager to take ownership of our digital channel and help shape the next chapter of Naturalmat's growth. Since re-platforming to Shopify Plus in 2022, our e-commerce operation has evolved significantly, powering not just our customer-facing website, but the back-office systems that keep our whole business running smoothly.
As an omnichannel retailer, we believe the best customer experience is one that moves seamlessly between our website and our showrooms. Most customers begin their journey online – reading our story, learning about our materials, or browsing our range. If they’re buying bedding, the majority will transact online, but if they’re looking for a bed or mattress they’ll probably head to one of our showrooms to try them out and get advice from our team. We don’t favour one route over the other; what matters is that the customer can choose what’s right for them, and that the experience is brilliant however they decide to shop with us. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the digital experience keeps pace with our ambitions, continually improving how we tell our story, present our range, and convert visitors into loyal Naturalmat customers.
