We are looking for a Mattress Maker to add to our growing team based in Topsham, Devon. While we are looking to employ someone with previous mat making experience, training will be provided for our specific product range. Equally we are willing to take on the right person with no mattress making skills who is eager to learn and may have experience in production or assembly line.

The day to day role will include all aspects of mattress manufacturing primarily in our Domestic range, however there may be some crossover with Hotel orders. The role includes aspects of heavy lifting and all necessary health and safety precautions need to be adhered to. We understand your level of fitness and physical capability to be adequate for these tasks and rely upon you to inform us if this is not the case.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tape edging experience preferred
  • Measuring and cutting fabrics and fillings for mat making
  • Mattress assembly
  • Tufting mattresses
  • Tape edging skills desirable
  • Laminating and cutting raw materials
  • Using relevant machinery such as cutting knives, sewing machines, tufting and other upholstery tools and machinery
  • Inspecting finished mattresses
  • Adhering to production schedules
  • Following H S procedures
About you:
  • You have mattress making experience if possible (1 year +)
  • Production line and/or assembly experience
  • Preferably have experience tape edging
  • You’re a proactive problem solver
  • A team player
  • You enjoy working with others to get stuff done
  • You’re hardworking and reliable
  • An interest in sustainable manufacturing is a benefit
  • Sufficiently fit and able to manoeuvre mattresses and equipment
Details:
  • Our workshop is situated outside Topsham, Devon
  • Full time based on fixed rota
  • In person role only
  • Hourly rate depending on Tape Edge experience, starting £13.50
  • Overtime rates at 1.5
  • Discretionary company bonus twice a year
  • Enhanced leave of 33 days holiday (including bank holidays) (on a pro rata basis)

Rota:
  • Monday to Thursday: 7.30am until 5.00pm
  • Friday: 7.30am to 2pm
