The role involves delivering and shaping the national AMX (Asset Management eXpert) Land Estate Asset Portfolio (LEAP) System. You will apply your technical expertise to drive the continued implementation of this system, ensuring it becomes an effective, reliable, and consistent tool for land asset management across Wales. You will be part of a national team of ten Land Management Specialists, working collaboratively to support operational colleagues and strengthen how we manage the land in our care.
You will help embed a Wales-wide approach to land asset management by working closely with internal and external specialists across land stewardship, engineering, and asset management. Your work will directly support the development, maintenance, and improvement of the LEAP system and its associated processes, ensuring high-quality asset data underpins our decision-making.
As an organisation, we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home, and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Travel may be required on an occasional basis for team meetings. On a day-to-day basis, you will work with the LEAP System Manager, but you will also work closely with Lead Specialists within the team and our operational colleagues across Wales.

What you will do:
- Provide technical AMX administration and configuration; managing user permissions; import, export, validate and quality assure AMX data; and work closely with colleagues in asset management Operations, ICT and external contractors on developments and upgrades.
- Develop and execute a data improvement plan for the AMX databases with support from data custodians in Land Stewardship.
- Prepare standard and ad hoc reports, and log and resolve issues.
- Develop a technical administrator guide in conjunction with Senior AMX users, covering all aspects of working within the AMX system and coach/support staff on a day-to-day basis.
- Procure and arrange training and develop AMX training materials for operational staff.
- Develop and maintain a wish-list for further AMX development and contribute to the specification, testing and service introduction of new elements and solutions.
- Provide technical support to administer WG Grant Aid (management of application, evidence and claims).
- Set up and manage a time recording procedure to enable NRW staff recharges on Coal Tip Safety grant across Wales.
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

- Required to take part in incident response activities.

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:
- Excellent data management skills and experience in managing data in a business context e.g. collating, warehousing, managing, transforming, manipulating, interrogating, archiving, extracting, analysing and using data.
- Experience of database administration, data integration tools, or data interrogating, visualisation and reporting tools.
- An understanding of data sensitivities and experience of managing sensitive and confidential information.
- Degree in a relevant subject or a good grounding in data management, natural, environmental or computer science.
- Experience of providing user support in a data or IT environment.
- IT literacy: The ability to use databases, Windows and Microsoft Office applications confidently.
- Welsh Language level requirements: Essential: Level A1 - Entry level Welsh language levels.
