The role

Are you ready to take on a role that protects people, property, and the environment? Join Natural Resources Wales as an Asset Performance Engineer and help shape flood resilience across North Wales.

You will play a key role in managing vital flood risk assets - analysing data, assessing infrastructure, and helping to deliver smart, sustainable solutions that make a real difference to communities. Whether it’s planning long-term asset strategies, leading local engineering projects, or advising at flood and coastal groups, this is your chance to put your technical expertise into action with real-world impact.

You will work on a varied mix of capital and revenue projects, collaborate with internal and external partners, and represent NRW at community events and stakeholder groups. It’s a role that combines analytical thinking, hands-on engineering, and meaningful engagement.

We are looking for someone with an engineering or asset management background, who is passionate about resilience, sustainability, and innovation. If you thrive on making a difference through data-led decision-making and proactive project delivery - this is the role for you.

Join us and be part of a team that is working every day to build a better, safer future for the people of Wales.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the NRW office at the above location and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

Interviews will be held on Microsoft Teams. Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
