The role supports the end to end delivery of the Geospatial Service within Natural Resources Wales (NRW) and is currently delivered on the ESRI ArcGIS Platform.
The Geospatial Services Team is distributed across Wales and work can be undertaken remotely or within an office environment, so is flexible. Geospatial Services are used by over 150 teams and 2000 users across NRW. We support users in broad functions relating to Climate Change, Nature Recovery and Pollution Control and as such the work is varied.
Work includes
- Provision of administrative and technical support for the Geospatial Team, including licence management.
- Technical support in Spatial Data Management
- Supporting the use of Desktop GIS (ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro)
- Provide technical support for the development of learning guides and training materials.
- Help the team to deliver application and service improvement projects and solutions
Working closely with the GIS User Community across NRW, the role reports to the Geospatial Team Leader and will provide support for the Geospatial Services Team.
