As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Construction Department with an Electrical Engineer at our Stirling / Glasgow office.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Provide grid consultancy services to clients regarding costs, timelines and technical aspects of grid connections including connection methods and ongoing grid cost factors (O&M, TNUoS, DUoS etc.).
- Preparation and submission of grid connection applications and modifications as part of new renewable project developments.
- Ensure technical aspects and electrical infrastructure associated with wind farms, solar PV plants and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects are designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with employer’s requirements and contractor’s specifications.
- Ensure contestable grid connection infrastructure is designed, installed and commissioned in accordance with system operator functional specifications.
- Act as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) in managing design review process with DNO’s, TSO’s and other grid authorities.
- Provide technical support to Project Manager / Owner’s Engineer to assist with project delivery.
- Assist with preparation of specifications and employer’s requirements for solar EPC contracts (solar and BESS), turbine supply agreements, electrical balance of plant and contestable grid connection work packages.
- Review technical aspects of electrical and grid connection infrastructure to ensure that any risks to operation, compliance and operational lifetime are identified and mitigated.
- Attend site meetings and undertake site visits to inspect electrical works and prepare snagging lists.
- Facilitate and manage grid code compliance testing processes.
- Provide technical due diligence advisory services to renewable energy developers, asset owners and investors.
- Keep abreast of grid connection and renewable energy policy and technology developments.
- Manage designers and specialist subconsultants as may be required.
- Provide guidance and support to direct reports in the fulfilment of their duties.
This is a permanent full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
