As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Procurement team with an Assistant Buyer at our Stirling, Glasgow or Castle Douglas locations. This role comes at a very exciting time for our business as we increase the number of sites we manage, so there are excellent opportunities to grow as part of the team.

About the Team: We are a small, dedicated team of two based at Ochil House, Stirling. With extensive knowledge of purchasing principles and supply chain management, our mission is to deliver value for money and promote the benefits of effective procurement across the organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across all departments to support procurement activities.
  • Develop and sustain professional relationships with external suppliers.
  • Prepare and expedite quotations as required.
  • Place purchase orders and update the system with acknowledgements, ensuring any exceptions are communicated promptly to site teams.
  • Organise and store procurement documentation systematically for easy retrieval, in line with current processes.
  • Review historical records and archive where appropriate.
  • Assist with stock control and annual stock counts.
  • Support supplier onboarding and performance review processes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • National 5 / GCSE (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent. Higher or A-Level qualifications are desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel). Experience with Excel Pivot Tables, SharePoint, and MS Teams would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, good attention to detail, and ability to work effectively under short lead times in a fast-paced environment.
  • Genuine interest in developing a career in procurement and commitment to personal growth is highly valued.
  • Positive, flexible approach with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines.
  • Previous experience in an office environment is essential; experience within a procurement department is desirable.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
