As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our People & Culture team with a Senior HR Business Partner who is fluent in English with additional European languages—specifically French, German, or Italian. The role can be based at any of our European offices: Nantes, Munich, Glasgow or Stirling. Traveling in Europe and the USA will be required.
The Natural Power Business Support - People & Culture department are a dynamic team of professionals that provide internal support to the Natural Power Business Units.
Due to continuing growth, we are looking for a Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) to act as a strategic consultant to leadership teams across our European operations. You will bridge the gap between high-level business goals and regional execution, serving as the primary subject matter expert in international employment law. This role requires a mobile, agile professional capable of navigating diverse legislative landscapes and cultural nuances. You will be joining a proactive, collaborative, and forward-thinking HR Team.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day People and Culture activities HR functions across all international locations within the business.
- Provide comprehensive and value-adding HR advice and support to employees and line managers on simple and complex employee relations.
- Responsible for providing advice and support on absence and positive attendance management.
- Provide advice and support on employee wellbeing and occupational health referrals.
- Provide advice and guidance on recruitment and retention of employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with Department Heads and Regional Managers to design and implement people strategies that support international growth and operational excellence.
- International Employment Law: Act as the lead expert on EU and country-specific labour laws. Manage complex employee relations (ER) cases, including redundancies, collective bargaining, and disciplinary actions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Cross-Border Compliance: Ensure all contracts, handbooks, and policies are compliant with local regulations in various European territories while maintaining a consistent global corporate culture.
- Organizational Design: Lead restructuring projects, TUPE transfers, and international M&A integrations, ensuring minimal disruption and full legal compliance.
- Talent & Succession: Drive performance management and succession planning across borders, identifying high-potential talent within the European workforce.
- Mobility & Travel: Travel frequently (approx. 30-50%) to European offices to provide hands-on HR support, build stakeholder relationships, and lead regional workshops.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: CIPD Level 7 (Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management) or equivalent master’s degree is essential.
- Experience: Proven track record as an HRBP within a multinational or EMEA-focused organisation; experience in France, Germany and Italy would be advantageous.
- Legal Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of European Employment Law; experience working with Works Councils and Trade Unions is highly desirable.
- Communication: Fluent in English (additional European languages—specifically French, German, or Italian—are a significant advantage).
- Adaptability: Proven ability to work autonomously and manage a complex workload while traveling across different time zones and cultures.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to use data and people analytics to influence business decisions and measure HR impact.

This is a Permanent, Full-Time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with travel in Europe.
