As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Site Management team with a HV Electrical Operations Engineer at our Sites in North Scotland, ideally based in Wick or Inverness.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Electrical Network Operations: Operation and maintenance of HV/LV electrical apparatus, including Transmission Systems up to 400kV. Achieve and maintain appointments under the relevant Safety Rules for the location(s) within area of operations, including Senior Authorised Person (SAP), and application of the relevant Safe Systems of Work, including WTSR and Approved HV Safety Rules as applicable, and participation in an on-call rota as a Standby Engineer, providing 24-hour support for designated sites and first response to alarms and events. Liaison with DNO/TL/NGET regarding operation of HV networks, site outages/events and works close to system boundaries. Participate in electrical incident investigations.
- Maintenance Management: Develop inspection and maintenance procedures that ensure compliance with relevant standards and good industry practice and in consultation with area managers and other stakeholders, support the inspection and maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance plans to ensure compliance with the relevant maintenance policy, and maintain maintenance records for all projects at which services are being delivered. Participate in the Engineering Risk Review/Asset Register process, including support for the development and maintenance of Project Risk Registers, identifying suitable strategic spares lists and contingency plans for each project (consulting with area managers and other stakeholders as appropriate). Participate in the management of change process as applicable to electrical systems by providing specialist assessment and recommendations as required.
- Training and Development of Department Staff: Mentoring/coaching of department staff in support of their appointment under the Safety Rules. Participate in Safety Rules Authorisation Panel Interviews and assessments. Support the technical training of field staff in the inspection, operation and maintenance of electrical apparatus.
This is a Permanent, Full time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.
