We're looking for proactive individuals with a keen eye for detail who can work well within and across teams to deliver agreed digitisation imaging and data outputs within a given collection area (Entomology or Botany). You will have an agile and pragmatic approach to problem solving, seeking advice where necessary and escalating issues in a timely manner. Above all, you are an excellent communicator, thrive in busy target-focused environments and have an enthusiasm for digitisation and the collection areas within which you work. This position is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant programme of work during a key phase of DiSSCo UK's rollout.
As a Digitiser, you will work initially with Entomological or Botanical collections, capturing specimen data and images to support global research and biodiversity knowledge. Your work will contribute directly to unlocking scientific collections and making them available through both the NHM and national network of DiSSCo UK digital infrastructures.

This role is specifically working as part of the Distributed System of Scientific Collections UK programme. UK natural science collections hold more than 140 million items. These are an unrivalled source of data about how the Earth and its natural systems formed over 4.56 billion years, with the potential to support research that addresses some of the critical issues facing the world, including biodiversity and climate change.
