This includes immersive landscape and floral installations, planting, living & faux walls, hospitality facilities, structures, bars, seating and commercial interiors and exteriors, enabling us to create memorable, high-impact spaces that bring our clients’ visions to life.

We are now looking for an experienced and highly motivated New Business Manager to help drive the next stage of our growth.

The role

The New Business Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new commercial opportunities across events, exhibitions, venues, hospitality, sport and experiential environments, along with an open mind to wider commercial opportunities.

This is a proactive, new-business-focused role.

The successful candidate will be expected to open doors, build relationships with new contacts and turn opportunities into profitable, long-term client relationships.

As part of the leadership team, the New Business Manager will play an important role in shaping NGCS’s commercial direction, identifying growth opportunities and ensuring that new business activity supports the company’s wider ambitions.

This role will suit a proven business development professional who enjoys generating opportunities, developing relationships and taking ownership of the full sales process.

It requires a genuine team player who understands that strong sales outcomes depend on close collaboration with creative, operational and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong, qualified new business pipeline.
  • Identify and prioritise target sectors, organisations, venues, events, agencies and decision-makers.
  • Proactively generate leads and secure meetings with prospective clients.
  • Open doors and develop relationships with new contacts across target markets.
  • Respond to inbound enquiries and ensure opportunities are followed up promptly and professionally.
  • Understand prospective clients’ objectives, challenges and commercial priorities.
  • Work with design, project management and operations teams to develop creative, practical and commercially viable solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations and pitches.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through to negotiation and signed contract.
  • Support tenders, preferred-supplier applications, procurement submissions and framework opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with venues, event organisers, production agencies, brands, contractors and other commercial partners.
  • Represent NGCS at exhibitions, networking events, site visits and industry meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client activity and forecasts using the company’s CRM and reporting systems.
  • Provide regular pipeline, forecast and performance updates to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and account growth following the successful conversion of new clients.
  • Support wider commercial planning and contribute to the company’s growth strategy.
  • Ensure opportunities are pursued with a clear understanding of pricing, margin, operational capacity, lead times and delivery requirements.
  • Work collaboratively across the business to ensure commitments made during the sales process can be delivered successfully.

  • Strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, margin and profitability.
  • A confident and credible communicator.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Experience presenting ideas and proposals to senior decision-makers.
  • The ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
  • Strong written communication, proposal and presentation skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate pipeline information.

They will need to develop a strong understanding of the company’s capabilities, stock, supplier network, operational processes, lead times and site requirements.

Collaboration will be essential.

The role requires someone who can bring opportunities into the business while respecting the expertise and capacity of the teams responsible for designing and delivering the work.

Location and travel

Whilst the role will be based at NGCS’s Warwickshire headquarters, it is very much a hybrid role as national travel will be required, including travel to client meetings, venues, exhibitions, events and site visits and should opportunities arise international travel

A full UK driving licence is required.
