We are pleased to share an opportunity for a Building LCA Verifier to support our growing portfolio of projects. This is a flexible, project-based opportunity suited to an independent consultant who can provide high-quality, objective verification of building LCA outputs.

About the role

You will act as an independent verifier, reviewing and validating LCA and operational energy modelling outputs prepared by the team, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with relevant standards and methodologies. Projects will be shared with you on an ad hoc basis, and you will have the flexibility to confirm your availability before accepting work.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently review and verify BREEAM LCA assessments (Stages 2, 4, and 6), Whole Life Carbon (WLC) assessments (Stages 2, 4, and 6), Operational energy predictions in line with CIBSE TM54 (Stages 2, 4, and 6).
  • Provide clear, structured feedback on methodology, assumptions, and results.
  • Ensure outputs align with relevant standards, guidance, and industry best practice.
  • Identify inconsistencies, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with project teams where clarification is required while maintaining independence of review.

About you

  • Proven experience in Building LCA / Whole Life Carbon assessments including BREEAM LCA requirements and RICS Whole Life Carbon methodology.
  • Experience with CIBSE TM54 operational energy modelling.
  • High attention to detail and technical rigour.
  • Ability to provide clear, constructive, and well-documented feedback.
  • Comfortable working independently on a freelance basis.
