Overview
Natta Building Company Ltd is looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of a new 120-bed care home project in Epping, working primarily from our head office in Farnham, with regular site visits as required. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to be part of a well-established company with over 50 years of continuous trading experience, offering long-term career development and the potential to gain RICS Chartership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all commercial and financial aspects of the project lifecycle
- Prepare accurate cost plans, budgets, and estimates throughout pre-construction and construction phases
- Lead procurement and tendering processes including subcontractor selection and negotiation
- Manage project valuations, applications for payment, and change control procedures
- Monitor project cash flow and ensure effective cost control
- Provide monthly financial reports and forecasts to senior management
- Liaise closely with project teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors
- Ensure all commercial activities are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team
- Attend site visits and client meetings when required
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally with a main contractor
- Proven experience working on care home or healthcare-related construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT preferred)
- Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Proficient in cost planning and reporting software (e.g., Excel, COINS, or similar)
- Full UK driving licence
