Job Description:

The core purpose of this role is to formally deputise for the Head of College Residential and ensure operational leadership and management of a range of residential provision to customers in the locality. The Deputy Head of Residential will be a key member of the College and the Residential Team and work in a flexible and collaborative manner with the Head of College Residential and College Principal.

As a team and individually, the Deputy Head of Residential will be expected to ensure the effective operation and compliance of our CQC registered residential provision and delivery of an appropriate extended curriculum programme to the service user within their residential provision. The Deputy Head of Residential (Registered Manager) may be required to be Registered Manager for a number of the households within the residential provision after thorough induction into the service and need to work the hours to meet the needs of the residential provision.

In order to be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualification to allow for approval as a registered manager with CQC with L5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care
  • Worked in a multi-site setting and worked with young people with behaviours of concern or that challenge
  • Significant knowledge of CQC registration standards
  • Ability to lead a team to work towards excellent care standards
  • Experience providing line management, supervision and support of residential staff
  • Experience of supporting teams providing support for young people with SEND
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of safeguarding principles, DoLS and MCA
  • Excellent communication skills, as well as experience of quality assurance, report writing and record keeping
