Air Traffic Control is a career unlike any other. We're recruiting future Air Traffic Controllers to help guide aircraft safely through some of the world's busiest airports and most complex airspace.

While the work is challenging and requires focus and responsibility, it is also highly rewarding. You'll join a supportive, highly skilled team helping pilots operate safely, efficiently and on time.
We provide comprehensive training and welcome applications from people from a wide range of backgrounds. No previous aviation experience is required. What matters most is your potential, commitment to learning and ability to remain calm and focused.
Initial training takes place in Hampshire or Gloucester and is determined by business needs rather than personal preference. This lasts approximately 12 to 15 months and provides the knowledge and skills needed to begin your career. Once completed, you'll move to an airport tower or control centre for operational training.
The Air Traffic Controller role is mobile grade, which means you may be assigned to locations across the UK following training. Wherever you are based, you'll become part of a team dedicated to the highest standards of safety and service.
As part of our 24-hour operation, controllers work shifts and communicate directly with pilots using radio systems, radar and other advanced technology. Our people come from all walks of life, but they share qualities such as sound judgement, attention to detail, resilience, teamwork and a commitment to safety.
We're looking for individuals who are ready to learn, develop new skills and build a long-term career in Air Traffic Management.
Eligibility
You must:
- Have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 4(C) or above, inc. English and Maths
- Be aged 18+ on application
- Have indefinite, unrestricted right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we cannot consider candidates whose right to work is time-limited or dependent on visa sponsorship
- Be able to obtain Security Clearance (SC). Additional SC guidance can be found here
- Meet the required CAA medical standards
What you'll receive
Industry-leading training and a starting package of £34,261 per year (basic salary £25,500 + accommodation allowance).
After completing basic training and beginning unit-based training, your salary will increase to approx. £37,490 to £42,786 (inclusive of shift allowance and dependent on location). Once you successfully complete your training, your salary will rise to between £50,468 and £56,247 depending on your assigned unit.

Successful candidates will join training courses from late 2027, depending on business requirements.
