Job Purpose/Overview
The purpose of this role is to provide Resource Management support to the relevant Work Centres within Technical Services, so that they understand their requirements to have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time to meet current and future evolving business demands, within the agreed financial envelope to balance Work Centre resources. May be responsible for providing Tier 1 contractor support where required (depending on work centre being supported).
Other Duties Include:
- Resource Capacity Strategy Management: In collaboration with the relevant Work Centre (WC) Managers, responsible for obtaining the information required for the long-term workforce plan. This includes capturing information such as skills and training needs of employees, demographics and other sensitive People information, and organisational structures, in order to meet the short-, medium- and long-term demand requirements placed on work centres. Utilising appropriate tooling & reporting in support of these activities.
- Resource Capacity Management: Within the relevant Work Centres responsible for breaking down demand data into understandable information, and ensure that WC managers understand the demand vs supply impacts. Responsible to support Work Centre Managers in understanding reporting metrics on demand accuracy and to ensure the business impacts are understood.
- Resource Capacity Strategy Governance: Within the relevant Work Centres responsible for highlighting supply issues/conflicts to the Work Centre Manager, proposing solutions and challenging the requests in order to establish the requirement, this includes challenging the status quo in support of efficiencies and headcount savings.
- CSI (Continuous Service Improvement): Contribute to improvements in the Resource Management processes within Technical Services to ensure that the deployment of staff represents value for money and is customer driven.
- Resilience: Cover for Resource Capacity Strategy team colleagues to ensure business as usual activities continue in their absence and provides continuation of services for the customers, ensuring handovers take place and tooling access arranged. Support with training of colleagues their areas of knowledge.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Demonstrable experience of using planning tools, analysing and translating data
- Demonstrable experience of supporting planning activities with a collaborative working approach
- Demonstrable experience of contributing to CSI outcomes and learning from experiences
- Proven stakeholder management to foster trusted relationships and gain the required information to help support the activities
- Proven communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate clearly to Work Centre Managers to help them digest the information
- Proven attention to detail and accuracy in data input and maintenance
- Motivated with the ability to challenge and have difficult conversations whilst still providing a successful customer experience
