NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider, handling over 2.4 million flights each year. We provide air traffic control services from two control centres and at airports around the UK. We also provide a wide range of commercial products and solutions internationally. Our people are at the heart of our purpose to advance aviation and keep the skies safe.
The purpose of this role is to provide business administrative support that is specific to the operational Service Delivery team at our Prestwick operational centre. This role is based at our Prestwick Centre and will be on site 4 days per week. It will work with other similar roles across Operations to ensure that common standards, procedures and best practice occur in providing that support and provide cover for each other when necessary.
Responsibilities
Provide operational-specific administrative support to assist with the efficient running of the operational service, including:
- Administration of the process, slide pack and other supporting materials for NATS and external visitors into the Operations rooms ensuring understanding of, and compliance with, the process across the wider NATS business. Co-ordinate requests from the business for visitors to the Centres to ensure that the visits are appropriately planned and hosted by a member of the requesting team
- Operations site lead for the NATS Drugs and Alcohol policy. Act as the Point of Contact for Drugs and Alcohol random testing at the Centre, working with the HR team to ensure that the on-site testing process is effectively managed in accordance with the Company’s Drugs and Alcohol policy
- Provide operational management teams with accurate and complete information in order to support them in complying with agreed business performance measures, e.g. for timesheet completion, mandatory business training, completeness of operational absence recording, operations room security audit etc
- Manage the process for approving routine medical expenses in line with corporate policies
- Provide reports to operational management teams relating to the people management of the business area. Highlight any data that needs further analysis / review to ensure continuous improvement in people management
- Provision of other operational business administration support as required
skills & experience:
- Experience in an administrative or support role is required
- Good communication skills, written and verbally, and a confident manner, credible at all levels
- Well-organised and self-motivated team player capable of working effectively and to a high standard with minimum supervision and using own initiative. Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships across a multi-disciplinary environment. Able to work flexibly to deal with changing circumstances and requirements
- An excellent standard of IT skills is required, including the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience in manipulating, interpreting and presenting data as concise management information is preferred
- Recognises the need to raise concerns appropriately and respond to the opportunities and problems identified
- Experience of implementing, developing and improving processes to maximise efficiency for the business
- Experience of delivering business objectives and managing resources with an intelligent appreciation of the customer and their needs
