NATS are looking for an IT Work Package Manager to join them on a contract basis at their site near Fareham, Hampshire. Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance. 9-month initial contract. Β£400-Β£450 p/d Umbrella, inside IR35. Hybrid working, 2-3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing requests for providing consultancy to a wide range of both internal and external customers of IT infrastructure, capturing requirements, the decomposition of those requests into discrete tasks and coordinating internal teams and external supplies to deliver solutions.
- Provide consultancy to consumers, helping them to understand how to consume Services as well as sourcing ideas for enhancements to our Services.
- Provide Design representation across the business with a knowledge of each of the Services that make up the domain.
- Tactical Planning: Identify short term Design decisions that can resolve Programmatic challenges without undermining Safety assurance or the Roadmap for the Service.
- Review Change Requests and associated plans as raised by the Service Operations team to identify whether the proposed change is within the Design envelope.
- Strategic Planning: Liaise with Project Managers, Transition Managers and other stakeholders to agree technical requirements and timescales that affect the execution of project tasks. Develop technology strategies to meet NATS business objectives, highlighting possible future technical or operational benefits and risks.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Appreciation of a diverse range of IT infrastructure and networking technologies.
- Degree in an Engineering or IT subject or equivalent knowledge acquired through experience, ideally in a safety critical environment.
- In lieu of the above qualifications, candidates will be required to demonstrate one of the following alternative criteria: Relevant lower-level engineering qualifications such as an Apprenticeship coupled with demonstrable experience in Datacentre or IT infrastructure, networking etc.
- Evidence of substantial experience gained in a relevant transferable environment, over a significant period and holds or has held a relevant certification.
- Qualification and experience must balance technical engineering with business acumen to meet both the technical, risk and business management requirements of this role.
- Ability to operate at level 6 (Initiate, Influence) of the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA).
- Demonstrate Leadership in technology design focused on the continual improvement of the service designed to fit a market need whilst balancing all stakeholder requirements.
- Comfortable operating under circumstances where there is a high degree of uncertainty.
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams (that could span architecture, engineering, suppliers and operations), demonstrating the ability to coach and develop members of the team.
- Excellent appreciation of ITIL methodologies and standards; ideally accredited to Foundation and Practitioner standards.
