The Business Analyst plays a critical role in translating business needs into clear, structured data and reporting requirements across the Azure data platform. With 6–10 years of experience, the ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, domain understanding of Water Utilities, and hands‑on expertise in defining KPI, dashboard, and semantic model requirements for enterprise reporting. This role requires strong coordination across stakeholders, high‑level understanding of Azure data pipelines, and the ability to drive clarity in complex data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑End Requirement Analysis: Lead discussions with business stakeholders to capture KPIs, reporting needs, and operational expectations. Document business processes, data dependencies, source behaviours, and reporting flows across utility systems.
  • Data Interpretation & Integration Alignment: Understand ingestion, transformation, data quality expectations, and Lakehouse layers at a conceptual level. Define business rules, data mappings, and semantic model requirements supporting downstream reporting.
  • Power BI Reporting Coordination: Work closely with reporting teams to define dashboard requirements, drill‑downs, metrics, and visualization logic. Validate report outputs and ensure KPIs are accurate, consistent, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, data engineers, QA teams, and reporting teams to ensure requirement clarity. Bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery across ingestion → modeling → reporting.
