Overview

In this fixed-term role, you will deliver cross-source data integration projects to bolster maritime operational decision-making. You will lead efforts to strengthen MARCOM’s Project Management and Data Governance practices, while building a center of excellence for data integration and a professional community across MARCOM. The role combines project delivery, capability development, and opportunity prioritization to enhance command and control. This is a mission-focused position at HQ MARCOM, offering impact in a multinational setting.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver data integration projects across multiple platforms to provide tangible customer benefits
  • Lead capability development by clarifying and leveraging PM and data science capabilities
  • Identify and prioritise opportunities to enhance command and control via improved data integration
  • Strengthen data governance and architectural maturity through policies, procedures and ways of working

Key requirements

  • 5 years of delivering business change projects
  • Degree level education in a relevant field (Business / Computer Science) with 4 years post-related experience, or equivalent with 2 years function-related experience
  • Experience delivering data integration projects using AI/ML tools (e.g., Databricks, Watson, Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit, TensorFlow)
  • Experience applying data science, analytics and data integration tools/lamiliar programming languages on real-world datasets (Python, R, KNIME, Splunk, Geo data)
  • Demonstrable experience with mathematical/statistical models to solve business problems
  • Desirable: project management accreditation; experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau); briefing non-technical staff; experience with big data ecosystems (Hadoop, Spark/MapReduce); NATO/multi-national defence sector experience
