Overview

In this fixed-term role, you will design and deliver technical solutions to integrate complex data and enable data-driven decisions for MARCOM. You will work with cross-functional teams to lift data engineering maturity and support advanced analytics, AI, and data science initiatives. The position contributes to NATO’s maritime situational awareness and decision-making capabilities. You will address real-world data challenges at scale within a multinational context.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver data integration solutions to meet defined business requirements
  • Build, test, and deploy data pipelines and data models for analytics
  • Apply data science workflows and AI/ML techniques to solve business problems
  • Support data governance, processing, and pipeline management to improve data quality
  • Contribute to standardising technical practices and continuous capability uplift
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver measurable results

Key requirements

  • 3 years’ experience applying data science tools for advanced analytics, machine learning, and visualization
  • Advanced degree in data science/data analytics or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience delivering data integration using AI/ML tools (e.g., Databricks, Watson, TensorFlow)
  • Experience designing mathematical/statistical models for business challenges
  • Experience applying Python, R, KNIME, Splunk, Geo data to real-world datasets
  • Desirable: industry qualification/accreditation; experience with Hadoop, Spark, MapReduce; experience in NATO or multinational defence/security sector
