Overall Purpose
Execute the strategy for the UK Real Estate business in agreement with UK senior management and Natixis global Real Estate and Real Assets management. To manage and monitor the UK portfolio of real estate loans, to originate new real estate loans in the UK, to obtain the necessary internal approvals for such loans and to execute and/or oversee the execution of such transactions in accordance with 'best practice', First Line of Defence, and the requirements of the Credit, Compliance and Legal/Tax departments.
Main Responsibilities
- Execute the strategy for the UK Real Estate practice agreed with Global Head of Real Estate & Hospitality Finance and UK management.
- Originate and execute real estate finance transactions in line with requirements of Credit, Compliance, Legal/Tax and consistent with the UK and Natixis Global O2D strategy, namely as for the commercial viability of entering into certain transactions and the syndication and/or securitisation suitability of underwritten loans.
- During the execution phase, assure the timely and correct completion of the transactions in accordance with legal and tax counsellors' recommendations and overall business strategy of the firm.
- Be responsible for the first line of defence (1LOD).
- Represent the Bank on investor roadshows and syndication meetings, if need be.
- Represent the UK REF team at internal business/credit committees, if need be.
- Supervise the on-going management of real estate transactions post-closing.
- Manage and monitor the existing portfolio of real estate loans and where necessary recommend appropriate steps to protect the Bank's Interest.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
- Working practice of marketing and origination.
- Commercial mortgage underwriting experience — an understanding of the risks related to commercial mortgage lending.
- Knowledge of UK real estate market and key players.
- In depth understanding of structured finance techniques and the application to real estate finance transactions.
- Knowledge and understanding of rating agency requirements and key rating agency personnel.
- Knowledge and understanding of capital markets.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Interpersonal skills and managerial aptitude.
- Team player.
- Self-motivated.
